@Ruthanne – best thing you can do is find a couple of really helpful Thesis bods that you’re able to work with, trust and who you’re happy to pay for their time – then use them for all your support. I completely agree that the forums can be scary, or just so difficult to get a straight answer unless one of the Nice Guys come along to help

I know it’s really confusing when you’re new to wordpress, but you’re on wordpress.com. Themes like this aren’t available unless you’re on self-hosted wordpress.org. When people say “wordpress”, they really mean self-hosted wordpress org that requires hosting and gives full control of the themes and plug ins. I should have clarified in my post!

So the reason that you’ve been having trouble is because with wordpress.com, there is no access to the files to upload premium themes.

I often wish wordpress.com would have chosen a different name to make the differences more obvious. The good news is once you get set up with hosting and install wordpress(.org) – you can use any theme and have tons of choices for plug ins, layouts, features, etc.

It’s like comparing a point-n-shoot camera to a dSLR.
