I had Handy Man pick a number between 1 and 70 and he choose #5. So the winner of the white balance lens cap is Susan who blogs at From the Narrows. Shoot me an email!

It’s Easter week already – and I’ll be closing the Sweet Shot Tuesday entries on Friday night at midnight. We have a great give-away sponsor for tomorrow’s Sweet Shot Tuesday, so you get your links and photos ready!

In other news, by request, I added links to all the equipment in my camera bag on my photography page. If you’re a Nikon person, I’ve made it super easy for you! No pressure or anything to shop from those links, but in full disclosure I get about $0.04 on the dollar if you do. If it helps you, click! Those affiliate profits are rolled back into the blog in the form of giveaways and hopefully soon – screencasting software so you can see the tutorials in action!

Confessions of an owlaholic

Molly the Owl

screencap of live Molly watching

So… have you all been watching Molly the Owl? We discovered her on a Thursday, about a week and a half ago and so far we’ve witnessed 4 owls hatch. The first things the boys ask when they wake up is, “What’s Molly up to?” or “Any more babies?”. Molly is the best science project we’ve ever participated in. I leave her on constantly, and whenever we hear noises from the owl box we all go running for the computer.

You can watch directly at UStream, but we prefer to watch it from Sportsmans Paradise Online because the chat is moderated and the language is nicer. If you haven’t stopped by, gather the kids around the computer and go hang out with Molly. There is one more egg still to hatch and you can watch it live.

If you’re an owlaholic, too, I’d love to know – are you as fascinated with Molly and McGee as we are?

I saw your links of Twitter and forwarded it to my aunts and cousins who are animal freaks. I’m not an animal freak, but this is pretty irresistible!

Hi! I just discovered Sweet Shot Tuesday! I’m so glad you started this meme. I’ve been doing a Project365 since Jan 1st, and it’s nice to find a place to link up without having to worry about the theme. (The only other themeless photo meme I’ve found is Wordless Wednesday — so now I have two days a week at least!)

I have a question. Do you put up the linky at midnight on Tuesday? What timezone? I’m the type that will gladly stay up and add my link right at midnight! ;)

Michelle,

Yes! I try to get it up late Monday night, although it’s not always right at midnight. Last few times it was about 12:30am CST. But I’m working on it now… waiting on some photos from our sponsor. ;)

Glad to have you on board!

I love my white balance lens cap– yay Susan!

Not really an owlaholic… yet. It does remind me to go search the shed and porch for nests. There are always birds hatching around here. I love having space and room to run.

We are so obsessed here too. Even Little G who is 3 asks to see the owl if she isn’t up for some reason. We even went for a walk in our park to look for owl pellets. But, we didn’t find any. :( We have a park with a ton of trees and the Nature Center person who works at the park said to look down at the base of trees and if you see white you might find one. The white is the owl… well you know. We plan on going to another section later to see if we can find one.

I think this is awesome! I’m glad you shared about in on HSBA, but now I can’t find the blog post about it. Did they un-publish it? (I’m subscribed to their feed via email, so I saw it in my email updates.)
