I’ve now read dozens of Blissdom recaps, people who have put into words what I’ve thus far failed to do. But my mind works in photos, so I hope I can tell my story like a picture book. I will definitely miss stuff, and leave out people – still this post will be too long. When you’re the girl behind the camera, you don’t always get photos with the people you wish you could.

Pictured, left to right, top to bottom: me & Nester | me & edie | me & hannah | my weirdo hubby, handyman, me & marsha | gussy & me | melissa, laurie, nester, tsh, emily |me & ruthanne | heather (sprittibee) & melissa | karin & marsha
None of those photos are mine! Photo credits: Melissa @afamiliarpath, Mishelle @secretagentmama, Deanna @domesticchicky. Talented, beautiful ladies.
1. I met him. I may never wash this shirt again. Incidentally, I was the photographer, so if you got your photo taken with Harry… *waves*. Hi, good to meet you. If you are Harry, my number is, I mean… it was a pleasure to meet you.
2. I started designing for this girl waaayyy back in 2007 when her only readers were me, Emily and her dad. We’ve come a long way, baby. It’s fun to turn “friends that live in my computer” to simply, “friends”.
3. From the maid service to the managerial positions, the staff at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel was incredibly nice. This photo is such a perfect example (even though I look like a dork in it) – Patrick, the manager of FUSE – the night club that hosted harry Connick, Jr. – helps my hubby by posing with me for the light check. From bouncers to AV guys…. great people!

5. Melissa @ A Familiar Path. I could write a short novel about Melissa. She is so quotable. She is funny, witty, spicy, quick to the draw, saucy, quippy, hates veggies, hates cold, true southern girl. Please go visit her, subscribe and make her blog like she speaks. My sides still ache. She was a client of mine, and I’ve followed her blog for a long time, I just had no idea how funny, wacky, likable she really is.
6. Hannah. I hope you’re reading this. Young enough to be my daughter, brilliant enough to be famous. Look out for this girl. She is all sorts of amazing. Thank you, Kim, for sharing her with us for a day. Hannah, keep doing what you’re doing. Your steadfast moral compass and ambition is pointing you in the right direction. I was so glad to meet you. I’m expecting great things from you.
7. More goodness. Kimba. I’ve been reading her blog since forever. She was one of the very first in the blogosphere I ever subscribed to – probably moments after she created it. She is all kinds of wonderful. Wish she lived in my neighborhood. Sandy… another one I am kicking myself for not getting a photo with. She left early, and time just went too fast! Deanna also left early, and I don’t have any photos with her. She is my design confidant, puts up with my questions, my inane rambling and is still nice to me. I’m hoping these photos surface somewhere, somehow. Emily. There aren’t enough hours in a conference to get all the chatting I’d have liked to do with Emily. The whole gang from (in)courage. Breaking all the stereotypes. Nicest women you’ll ever assemble in a single room. I won a cupcake stand at the (in)courage party, and I still have to pinch myself that I got to bring it home. More about that soon!
To the rest of you with whom I didn’t get photos, but loved meeting… thank you for making the trip fun, memorable and interesting. I wish I could list you all. Admittedly… I got star struck twice. Once with Tsh (I think I scared her) and the other was with Meredith. Both have made such an impression on me, and probably have no idea that they have. Meeting them gave me butterflies and made me feel a little stalker-ish, not gonna lie.
Thank you to all the people who worked so hard behind the scenes. To see more photos of Blissdom awesomeness, please visit my Blissdom Flickr stream. And with that, I think there are more photos of me in this post than in the whole rest of my blog. That’s enough of that, already.
If you could meet anyone from your computer, who would it be?

It was really nice to get on an elevator with you so I had a chance to say hi and you had a chance to pretend you knew who I was. You are so sweet.
Ha! Pretend! You were one of the ones I recognized immediately. While some people look nothing like their photos, you totally do!
I’ve read quite a few Blissdom recaps lately and it sounds like everyone had a blast…and are still tickled that they got to meet Harry Connick Jr.! What strikes me the most is that y’all got to meet the people behind the blogs. I love that!
Don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to go to Blissdom, but I’m having a lot of fun living vicariously through all you lovely bloggy ladies!
Thanks for sharing, Darcy.

As a talented artist, a conference like Blissdom is a fabulous way to get your mad skillz out there! Would love to meet you!
Lovely pics. Blissdom looks like a blast. There are several ladies I’d like to meet & you’d be one, Darcy! =) Your blog was the very first one I came across…
NCMom´s last blog ..
It is a blast. Coming next year? Would love to hug ya!
I think I’m seriously addicted to blogging conferences now. Are they all as wonderful as Blissdom? If not, it will be depressing if its only ONCE a year. The women behind the blogs are even more amazing and special in person.
So glad we got to hug in person! I’ve been hugging you through the computer screen for awhile now!
Karin Katherine´s last blog ..My takeaway from Blissdom 2010
I went to BlogHer, but I really didn’t know anyone else going, so for me it wasn’t nearly as fun. I think part of what makes it fun is meeting those in your blogging circle. I am going to Wordcamp (conference for Wordpress users and developers) in June. I’m guessing that won’t be nearly as estrogen filled and girly as Blissdom.
But let me know where you’re going… I’d love to hang out again!
Darcy – it is so fun to have a sweet face and personality behind the words. You are a blessing to so many…wish we would have had time to chit chat….I don’t think I even talked homeschooling the whole time (and I wanted to…with some of you).

Jen@Balancing Beauty and Bedlam´s last blog ..Creating Beautiful Food…are you that chef?
I didn’t chat about homeschool at all either. And how is it that in 4 days, there still isn’t enough time to chat with everyone? It was wonderful to meet you in person (finally) – would have loved a table in the corner to chat.
awwwww i’m so glad y’all had a wonderful time! i have enjoyed reading over all the blissdom posts.
I guess at the top of my list right now would be Melissa! {I’ve read so much about her the past couple of days! }
her blog is one of the first ones I started reading {many years ago} over @ homeschool blogger
Melissa is the Real. Deal. She is such a fire cracker. The secret is out.
You are beautiful, your photos are beautiful, and I’m glad we got to talk even though it was just for a minute!
A minute just isn’t enough! Was so good to meet you!
I had serious photo skill envy this weekend with all of you capturing perfect moments so beautifully. thank you for that..wish we had time to meet IRL…500 women doesn’t sound like a lot but when you are trying to meet them all, it sure is LOL
Melissa Multitasking Mama´s last blog ..Organized Grocery Shopping
You put it perfectly. So many bloggers, so little time! Next time!
the pictures are beautiful….don’t kid yourself! hope you are staying warm my dear.

Would have loved to meet you! Next year??
And I’m freezin’ my tush off! Can you see sky under all your snow way up there?
I’m still looking at Harry….You lucky duck!
I know! I can’t believe it myself. Pinch me.
Oh, I wish I could have been there, although I tend to be a wall flower at big events so I wouldn’t have met many even it I had gone. LOL
Let’s see, who would I want to meet? Well, you, Amy from She Wears Many Hats, and honestly, just other “small-time” bloggers like myself. Those you mentioned have such a huge following and have been doing it so long, I can’t really relate to them as much as I can the small-time ladies. Make sense?
Amanda´s last blog ..365-41 My Best Shot Today
Even wall flowers have fun at events like this. Business cards are a great ice breaker!
And yes, totally makes sense. Making a community of like-minded bloggers is key. You totally nailed it.
i loved meeting you and your husband and spending time with your crazy selves. let’s do it again next year. i’ll dress warm.
melissa stover´s last blog ..A cold, dreary photo walk
I seriously heart you, Melissa. Has your blog traffic spiked this week? The world needs to know how hilarious you are.
Oh do I ever adore you. What a great wrap up post! You are so photogenic with that one eyebrow that kicks up so slyish. Meeting you was the highpoint of blissdom!
so luv you girl!
The Nester´s last blog ..Lessons Learned From Houses Past
So. heart. you. And yet there still wasn’t enough time.
The pictures of you and your friends speak volumes.
I was overwhelmed by Blissdom. But in a good way. I don’t think I have laughed so hard in a very, very long time! It was therapeutic. It’s still hard to believe that I got to meet so many new friends that *get me*, or at least get the whole blogging thing about me.
I’m glad we got to hang out together, Darcy. Spending time with you is always a highlight!

Sounds like Melissa is the gal to meet too

Living vicariously is the next-best thing to being there. Kind of. Seeing these photos makes me happy that BlissDom was so much fun and at the same time sad that I didn’t get to do it.
HOWEVER, I stop and remind myself that there will probably be a BlissDom 2011. And there will probably be awesome bloggers there. Like probably you. Right? Because I want to meet you. I could pick those eyes of yours out of any crowd, anywhere. I know I could. So.
I wanna get my picture taken with Darcy.
Richella´s last blog ..Decorating Dilemma
Oh Boy! It looks like SO. MUCH. FUN.
I’ll admit I’m jealous. Thou shall not covet. Oi.
Maybe one day…. But in the mean time, I’ll live vicariously through pictures! Thanks for sharing them and giving us a glimpse of the party.
Sharon´s last blog ..City Slickers
Loved meeting you, Darcy! Even if we didn’t get pics taken. I know you’ve got so many on your plate now, but what’s one more.
Looking forward to working with you even more very soon.
Love your blissdom posts…Robin and I should figure out a way to go next year. Thanks for everything you’ve done for us SO FAR…..Suz
It’s been like . . . . . five days or something since I last saw you. I’m going through withdrawal. I miss you. *sniff, sniff*
Ruthanne´s last blog ..Snow Days {Part Trois}
I would like to add that I look like the biggest goober in that picture. Soooo glad you love goobers.
Ruthanne´s last blog ..Snow Days {Part Trois}
I loved meeting you. I wished I could take you home with me to live next door. Your husband was charming (in a scary – “I can’t believe he’s comfortable being around 500 women” kind of way). Your camera survived my drool – which is a good thing. You and Edie win the BEST EYES AT BLISSDOM 2010 award. Totally mesmerizing. You both need to do Covergirl commercials. For reals. I can’t wait to see you again.

i do keep reading your tweets about it all too! very entertaining!!!
Lucky girl! You got your very own just-you-and-Harry picture!
You are so totally right about the hotel staff. They handled everything in a subtly perfect way. Best. Conference. Ever!
I’m getting a little carried away with the exclamation points, so I’ll close by saying it was wonderful meeting you, and I totally get what you mean about not being in many pictures (and most of the ones I’m in I appear to be almost asleep). {!!!}
