I often do blog boot camp with my clients, and the first thing I always tell them is: be consistent, publish on a regular basis and don’t start each post with, “I’m sorry it’s been awhile… ” So, if you want to grow your blog, do as I say, not as I do.
When you “do blogs” as your job it’s kind of like the cobbler’s kids; it’s your blog that goes without. But now I’ve gotten some emails from readers asking if I’m okay or if they should file a missing persons report. Well, thank you for asking.
To prove how behind I am, this photo was taken 11/13.
Here’s a recap:
Spoke at a conference. Love the local and semi-local peeps I got to meet.
Got sick, again.
Did nothing constructive for a couple days.
Missed Prematurity Awareness Day. It’s a big day for a non-profit that is important to us.
Closed my design queue.
Felt better.
Spent time learning about marketing a business. Can you believe it? Camera, check. Love of photography, check. Marketing? Not check.
Took some photos.
Took more.
Saw a movie. Werewolves. Coo coo kachoo, Mrs. Robinson.
Watched my Hawks win but my Bears lose.
And it’s Monday already. Please don’t file a missing persons report.

It’s okay: you’ve practiced what you preach enough for us to know that you’re legitimate. Glad you’re back, though! I’m sorry to hear that you were sick again. Ugh. Maybe you’ll now be immune to the viruses that will plague others in the days to come. You’re due for some sick-free days!
I totally didn’t RUN out of the house to go droll over Edward Cullen! My hubby said I never jump like that for him…and they are his Bears too. The good news~ Jimmie Johnson won his fourth title! First ever to do it! It was a good weekend! Going back next weekend to drool some more!
At the risk of sounding incredibly stupid, I have no idea who Jimmie Johnson is… off to Google.
Oooohhhhh. Nascar. That would ’splain why I’ve never heard of him. But I’m glad someone’s fav won.
yeah and I drooled not drolled over Edward. I hate it when that happens! I used to abhor Nascar….so I feel you!
Sorry you were sick… it seems to happen at the worst time!
Sounds like you have a million other things a lot higher on your priorities list than blogging, and thats exactly how it should be. Don’t worry– we aren’t going anywhere!
I’m still stuck on that blogging boot camp thing… I’m sure I need that. Plus a logo. And direction. And inspiration… Don’t worry; we’ve all been there. At least you’ve got some darn good excuses! Mine are usually so lame that I just make up something that sounds good instead.
I think your pictures are the BEST so GORGEOUS – hope the marketing adds any more than you need
I want that hat.
Do you think Trouble would give it to me if I baked him some cookies?
It’s likely.
whew! you’ve been busy girl!
It’s always good to read your posts.
I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I’m glad you throw us a bone every now and then. Oh and I have taken your advice to heart. I have resisted many a time beginning with an excuse for bloggy absenteeism.
Glad you’re feeling better. I got tired just reading what you’ve been up to.
Have a happy thanksgiving.
I’m behind on commenting! Sorry I haven’t been by in a while Darcy. There’s just so many fun blogs out there and keeping up with my own… and my crazy obsession with Twitter and Facebook.
We’re building a new business too so it takes a lot of time, but thankfully blogging is one of the aspects, which makes it far more interesting, and fun! I always enjoy your photos Darcy!
