brothers

Well, there ya’ have it. Life with my 3 Boybarians is all stretched out. I’m loving all this extra room since moving to a one-column blog. And aren’t those brothers just soo… brotherly?

I’m ironing out a few tweaks still with the template, so please feel free to send me some screen shots if you’re seeing something funky.

ps – I saw Wicked this weekend and can’t stop humming Defying Gravity.
pss – I had a house full this weekend and I should be doing laundry instead of blogging.
ppss – I did a newborn shoot on Friday. He was gorgeous and beautiful. The little stinker didn’t fall asleep – even after 3 1/2 hrs. Have you ever heard of a 9-day-old baby staying awake that long? We still got some beautiful shots, and he was… delicious.
ppsss – I have exactly 3 session spots left to gaurantee early December delivery in time for your Christmas cards.
pppsss – The photography website is almost ready.
pppssss – I wonder what the world record for post scripts is?

Yes! I can write templates like this for both Blogger and Wordpress. If you look, my husband’s blog is on Blogger (for now) and he has a wide 1-col template too, with 3 lower bars. I can design blogs with as many or as few columns as you need. :)

Here’s a link to my design site for more info: http://graphicallydesigning.com

I would love to work with you, Marcelle! I have worked with clients in both Africa and Europe and the time zone changes usually means the makeover takes a couple extra days – but no problem.

I kept singing Popular after I saw it. Soooo, what did you think? Did you love it or what?!

Love the picture of the boys. Glad you like the new room on your website. I don’t like that I have to slide my bar over to see and read all the content. Is that because I have an ancient computer and I need to upgrade to a wider/flat screen type monitor? Because if I can blame you for having to get a new computer, then I will. Ha!

Hopefully it’s a resolution setting, I mean I’d hate to make you go buy a new computer for my little ol’ blog.

The blog is set to be about 920some pixels wide, total maybe 1000px or so. If you find your monitor’s resolution settings, you’ll want the very minimum to 1248 x 768 and that’s kinda ol’ skool. Ideally a setting like 1440 x 900 or even 1600something would allow you to see much more of the prettiness.

I try to make all my blogs less than 960 px wide so that everyone who has bought a computer in the last 4-5 years can see it in all its glory.

Love the look and love the photo! Wish we lived within a reasonable distance so that I could have you do our family photo!

Ok…Wicked….right up there with Phantom of the Opera for me. I’ve seen in quite a few times now and whenever Elphaba is up there singing Defying Gravity I get chills…something very empowering about the whole thing! Gotta love it!

I LOVE the new blog layout!!! It’s perfect for displaying your outstanding photos…like the one of your boys. Precious!

ps- I’ve wanted to see Wicked for a while.
pss- Now I’m going to have to find Defying Gravity and give it a listen.
ppss- Is the Streeeeeeeetch effect something one can do on Blogger?
ppsss- I have no idea what the world record for post scripts is….or if there even is one, yet!

lol!

Yes – I can make one column blogs for Blogger. I have a few already in my portfolio.

ITunes has the orginal cast recording of Wicked with Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth. Lurve it. I’ve been listening to it for months. It’s on right now.

I’m a show tunes geek!

i love it Darcy!

I love big photos! But i like the magazine style themes too…let me tell you after very avid search…to get a template like that with magazine look as well as to have big photos is a rarity!

I have settled with ‘vani’ for wordpress as it gives me the magazine feel and also header is changable which gives me flexibility to change as per my mood but photos have to be small and that is SAD!!! but its for free!so i guess i just have to keep looking…

but one big problem is that my newest post will not show its photos unless its designated url is clicked on…i am looking for a new theme just because i find it ANNOYING!I want my newest article to show up just fine and rest of it take the magazine feel!

Brian Gardner’s themes have a few like this. But his aren’t free. generally the more stuff – columns and such you add – the smaller they all have to be. I saw your theme. I think it looks pretty good… I like the thumbnail style truncated posts, too. Thesis offers all that – truncated posts and magazine all in one theme. It’s definitely an investment though, so not everyone will go for it.

Thank you Darcy!

Other than your blog theme ..only other blog theme that i really really like is of mohanbn dot com/blog/
He works for yahoo in India.
He has done it all by himself, like you.
And wow! he is cool!

That blog is almost straight out of the box Thesis. The navigation was moved down – but you could do that with almost no coding at all. Thesis comes out exactly like that. He uses the same theme that I use.

Pretty, pretty, pretty. Or maybe I should say handsome, handsome, handsome. I like your new look. I hate that you had to give up your fun little ads and things–ridiculous. But you’ve made good use of your space!
