An Inconvenient Truth

by Darcy on October 11, 2009

in funny stuff, photography

I seem to be talking about Al Gore a whole lot lately. First about that time he invented the internet… and now this.

Well, Gore. ‘Splain me somethin’, please?

October Snow-21-1

Remember that bit about melting ice caps?

web October Snow-33

About how the earth is warming because of our irresponsibility?

October Snow-16

I have discovered my own inconvenient truth. And it’s pretty inconvenient. At least to me.

October Snow-15

You see, Mr Gore. It appears that the polar ice caps aren’t melting. They’ve merely decided to pack their bags and relocate. Don’t worry, they’re not going far.

October Snow-19

They’ve moved to Iowa.

Now that’s an inconvenient truth.

I’m sorry. I got a good laugh out of your post though.

At least the snow is the perfect excuse to have a cup of coffee. :)

I’m cold just looking at those (gorgeous) photos. I really am so glad I live in Florida. I never was fond of the winters…sorry. Looks pretty in your photographs but I never mastered layering and all that.

Too funny! I wish I lived there…don’t get much snow here in southern CA. I probably just like the idea of snow, I am a total wimp, but it sure is pretty!

Beautiful pictures :)

I KNOW!

Global warming looks like a crock from where I’m sitting too!

Oh, but it’s so pretty! When fall temperatures started back in August though, I started thinking it might end up being a long winter. And big heating bills.

Global Warming has been the butt of our jokes around here for awhile. We woke up to snow this morning and I could’ve cried. It’s too early! I almost wish Al Gore was right….. :)

We never understood why halloween costumes at the store were always so danged hot and thick materialed and all. We are having a cold front right now and the temps have dropped into the 60s and 70s. *sigh*

I wish we had a REAL cold front. With snow and all the other cozy trappings of fall and winter.

It feels like you all just got rid of all that snow and there it is again! So sorry, Darcy. What do the boybarians say about it?

I can’t wait to show this to my son Preston (the one with the Size 48 feet). He’s thinking he might major in Environmental Science just so that he can be a voice of reason in that field.

It can be pretty darn chilly in the Midwest, can’t it? If you ever find that you’re in real need of a thaw, come to North Carolina. You’re always welcome here.

I’m sure you’ve probably heard that it is now called “climate change” because then whether it gets colder or warmer we can still be blamed. Apparently no one ever told them the weather is always changing. It snows, where we are, once every 107 years. We have 102 more years to go, woohoo. I am getting the kids snow for Christmas and will be paying some stupid green tax to do so.

They are truly delightful pictures. I have never been to the snow, only touched it once when I was on a school excursion in a coach in Tasmania and it began to snow and I was like hanging out the window…I begged the bus driver to ler us out, but he would’nt. Hope your having a great week. Cheers,

Sarah from Victoria, Australia! xxx
