Now, how come those thighs are so precious on her???
This is not my photo, it was turned in to I ♥ Faces because it could use a little help. The main issue in this pic was composition (lots of legs and strollers) and exposure (her face is blown out, which is hard to fix).
Here is what I did to try and fix her:
- Cloned out the extranneous legs and strollers (not terribly well either, you can do better. I was working quickly!)
- Cropped the image to a composition I liked.
- Unsharp Mask, twice.
- Using an soft brush at a very low opacity, I tried to paint back on her skin tone on her face. It doesn’t bring back the details, but it evens out the blown out exposure a little.
- Dodged and burned her eyes, very slightly. No zombie babies allowed.
- Hue & Saturation: pulled down the amount of yellow in the image.
- Desaturated the whole image.
- Added noise to the cement background.
Here you can see the before and after:

Now it’s your turn to try. Head on over to I ♥ Faces so you can download the photo and sign up on Mr. Linky. If you’re participating, I’d love to see your edit, too.
ps – The first day of kindergarten went well in spite of Trouble spending the night before throwing up all over me, my sheets and my bathroom. That was day 3 in a row of washing sheets in the middle of the night. He’s doing great.

Love the picture!
Poor Trouble (and you)! I hope he’s feeling better and that you get a break from the laundry!
Washing sheets in the middle of the night. Oh boy. That’s just hard to beat for fun, isn’t it?
Glad to know that the beginning of homeschooling is going well! Sometimes I wish I’d never stopped homeschooling my boys. (The one I homeschooled the longest is heading to Duke next month.) Sometimes I think, “What if I were still responsible for homeschooling the boys?!” Like so much of life, decisions are complicated. But I’m glad that homeschooling is working well for y’all.
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Richella
Now how different would our life be, if we had one of those cutie pies? You are a wonderful ar”tist”!
BTW, The boys heard a bunch of girls hysterically screaming at BK today and immediately FC said, “oh no! Mom, I don’t won’t one of those!”
you know Darcy, if I didn’t love you I’d hate you.
Thanks to you I bought Photoshop and have become totally addicted. Instead of cleaning and cooking and laundrying I have been sitting at my computer making giant messes out of every snap. I have spent hours dodging and burning and blurring and yipes stripes what a giant time suck. In fact, it is now 9:57am and I am still propped up in my bed, smoothing out tummy blub on a pic of me and my college roommates taken at the top of Mt. Osceola last weekend. aaarrrgggghhhhh
LOVE what you did to that toddler….
