**Update: This giveaway is now closed. HandyMan drew names – and the winner is Sprittibee! Congrats! Shoot me an email, and my friends at Stoneyfield Farm will get your prize out post-haste!**

We’ve been making a real effort around here to eat better. It started last year after reading some articles about all the chemicals going into our kids. I don’t want to be an alarmist so we’ve taken a very slow approach to removing some of the things that concerned me. Eliminating high fructose corn syrup, products containing mercury and preservatives we just aren’t sure about. We also took some proactive steps, adding omega-3s, daily vitamins and flaxseed to our diets. In January, I started baking all our family’s bread and I never looked back. We aren’t models of great diet – we have a long way to go. But it’s all about being conscience, and taking baby steps for healthier nutrition.

So when the folks at Stoneyfield Farm contacted me about trying their organic Yo Baby Yogurt, I didn’t hesitate. It’s a great fit for us, and my boys are eager testers. We tried the following flavors: apple, mixed berry, blueberry, pear and peach. One thing to note – if you’re looking for this brand – in our local grocery store, it was not located with all the dairy products as we expected it might be. It was actually in a separate part of the store, over by the organic and whole food area. So if you don’t find it right away, ask your store’s manager.

Results:
It isn’t as sweet as the yogurts you’ll find in the dairy aisle. It isn’t stuffed full of sugar or artificial sweeteners, so I watched the boys’ faces. They didn’t even notice. Because this is marketed to babies as young as 6 months, I was very glad (and admittedly a little surprised) that they liked it without the super sweet, sugary taste our grocery store brand has.

Favorites:
They liked mixed berry and blueberry. I like pear the best. We all agreed that apple is better well-stirred. It was the perfect serving size for tiny tummies, although my 9 year old ate 3 in one sitting.

The folks at Yo Baby want one of you to win a prize package from them. Included is everything you see below, including coupons for free organic Yo Baby Yogurt:

You can also head over to their website and order coupons right away – Yo Baby Yogurt coupons.

Well, I found the Boybarians again!! I’m a fan of Yo baby yogurt as well, and since Tay has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, I’ve been trying to change our diets up as well, to more healthy options!! I’ve noticed a mild change in her when the sugar is not readily available to her!!

Thanks for the info from your “testers”…Tay likes all of it, and I’ve not really tried but the berry myself yet!!
HUGS to those cute boys!!!

We’re big fans of yo baby yogurt too. My baby is 4 and still has his daily yo baby yogurt (he eats the kind with the cereal mixed in). He even noticed when the packaging changed.

Yum! I am always looking for healthier alternatives to our favorite foods, and this may be the perfect thing for the super sugar loaded ones I usually get – thanks!

The 8 month old is starting to eat more foods.. this reminded me that yogurt is a good first-food! Even if I don’t win, I’ll have to get some for him to try!

This is a fantastic giveaway, thanks so much! Since I just found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd, yogurt has and always will be a great go-to item for our family. I’m especially tempted to steer my oldest daughter away from a particular variety that she prefers (one that comes plastered with pictures of her favorite hispanic cartoon characters) which has a ton of sugar.

Thanks for passing on info on such a great healthy product!

…here’s hoping!

Hey Darcy–

I was just spending a little time looking around your new site. I especially like the “Meet Darcy” page. I’ve told you how much I love that photo of you–I think it was a great choice for that page! Now I have a question–was that photo of your three boys in overalls on your old blog? Did I just miss it? Oh my goodness–that’s the most adorable photo. I wish, wish, wish I had a photo like that from when my guys were little. Do you have that in black and white? I can just see that photo in B&W, framed with a white mat. If that’s the kind of thing you’re doing with your new photography business, I’ll bet you’ve got some very happy clients.

Take care!
Love,
Richella

We used to eat Yo Baby when by girl was little, and then ate Yo Kids for a while. I always liked the fact that it wasn’t full of sugar :)

I would like to win!! And I have four little yogurt-eaters here, plus the two big-sized yogurters.

We are also making many switches… although I was better about baking our own bread when it was cooler outside!! It’s hard to turn on the oven when it’s 97 degrees out!

Also, be aware of the products that contain MSG and the harm that it can cause…

I’d LOVE to win free yo baby :) It’s all we eat around here! I stumbled onto your blog in researching issues related to my son’s growth issues (he was premature). I’ve been peeking in on you ever since :) I don’t tweet or know how to do the other things, so here’s hoping this one comment is *the* one! Thanks!

I’m a friend, I tweeted and can I say we are already such fans of this yogurt.
But what I didn’t realize was that I could be feeding my YoBaby to my kids. I buy YoBaby for the baby and YoKids for the kids. We may have to taste test around here…but then again, they are new readers so they might not go for eating the baby yogurt!

PS
my little girl loves Pear the best too!

I’ve been completely unplugged or 5 days and missed this one! Stoneyfield and Brown Cow are the only yogurt we buy. Love them both. I use them in smoothies too!

My passion is health so if you ever have a question about food shoot it my way. I read and research everything I can get my hands on. It has made a HUGE difference in my children and our lives!
