Cuckoo For Birds

November 29, 2008

First the woodpecker. Now this. It’s like a regular zoo around here.
This is the amazing bird in my yard. A big smooch if you can ID him for me. I’m thinking barn owl? But his wingspan was about 8′. The largest bird I have ever seen in real life [...]

Happy Thanksgiving

November 27, 2008

My turkey has been brining. The potatoes are waiting to be baked. I’m making pumpkin bread. I cannot wait to stuff the bird with the delicious stuffing (my mom’s recipe!)
I hope this holiday find you and all your turkeys safe, warm, healthy, blessed, well-fed and surrounded by those you love most.
xoxoxo,

“You really aren’t that funny in person!”

November 26, 2008

That was my husband’s reaction to the homeschool blog award nominations. Say what he wants, I’ve caught him sitting here laughing at the blog. I’m so lucky that he loves me in spite of myself. But he kinda has a point.
What he doesn’t know is that inside my own head, it’s like [...]

This Photo…

November 22, 2008

This photo brings me such a sense of peace.

… because I’m not the hungriest creature on my property.
I’m on a diet. It’s super-fun.
But he has to eat bugs.
I wonder how many points a bug is?

And they screamed and screamed and…

November 21, 2008

… and they screamed some more!
My friend *rk* and I planned to meet at the theaters a good 40 minutes before the show. Mistake one. Those girls were there at 5 for the 8 pm show.
She and I alone brought up the average age of the line by at least, ummm [...]

The Wait is Over!

November 21, 2008

All the weeks of waiting are over. And I’m so stinkin’ excited because I don’t even have to go alone. And I’m only mildly alarmed with the rumors that Robert Pattison doesn’t wash his hair. Whatever. His hair was washed while he was Edward.
And that’s good enough for me.

He’s "Einstein" for a Reason

November 19, 2008

“Mom, I love Mars Mission.”
He’s talking about Legos again. Or still. It’s all the same in my girly head. He talks about Legos pretty much all the time.
“I know you do, sweet pea.” I agree, “It’s pretty cool stuff!”
He gets excited. And even though I’ve probably heard a variation of [...]

I won’t be Singing ‘Ode To Joy’

November 18, 2008

Discussion on homeschooling starts at about 5:45 min into the segment, in regards to where the Obama girls should go to school.
Oh Joy. Your ignorance is astounding.

Awww, a Tear in My Eye!

November 13, 2008

I’ve had so much going on here at LWM3B that I haven’t had a chance to say thanks to those of you participating in the Blog Awards over at HSBA.
First, a huge thanks goes to the crew behind the scenes at HSBA. I know for a fact that Dawn and Sprittibee were up until [...]

Things I Already Miss

November 11, 2008

My babies are growing up. Each day I beg, implore, bribe and cajole them to stay little. Einstein can’t wait to explore the world. He wants to see China, Australia, Italy and the volcanoes in Iceland. Picasso seems less likely to go jet-setting, but he is also the most independent and [...]

11 Days 12 Hours 30 Minutes

November 9, 2008

Not that I’m counting or anything.
So on Saturday, my hubba hubba Handy Man walks in and chucks a box in my direction. It’s already open. Never mind that it’s a federal crime to open someone else’s mail. He thinks it’s a Christmas present we ordered.
He rolls his eyes and [...]
